Artwork Requirements for T-Shirt & Garment Printing
To print your design clearly, we need your artwork in the correct format. Please follow the steps below before sending your file.
1. Send the original artwork file
Please do not send screenshots, photos of a screen, or low-quality images.
Best file types:
- AI
- SVG
- PNG
2. Use a transparent background
For most printing jobs, your artwork should have no background.
This means only the design should be visible, not a white, black, or coloured box behind it.
If your logo has a background, we may need to remove it before printing.
3. Send a high-resolution file
For best print quality, your artwork should be:
- 300 DPI in CMYK
- Supplied at the size you want it printed
- Clean around the edges
Example:
If you want your design printed 28cm wide, the artwork should be high quality at 28cm wide at 300dpi resolution.
4. Send files as a document, not as an image
WhatsApp can reduce image quality and remove transparency.
Please send your artwork as a document attachment, or email it to:
designteam@missiclothing.com
5. Colour Matching
Colours can appear differently on screens and may also vary depending on the garment colour, fabric and printing method.
HEX and RGB codes are intended for digital screens and cannot be used as reliable references for accurate print colour matching.
If your artwork must be matched to a specific Pantone colour, please email your artwork files and Pantone reference to designteam@missiclothing.com before placing your order. We will review the requirements and advise you of any applicable Pantone matching or setup costs.
Please note that an exact colour match cannot always be guaranteed when printing onto different fabrics or coloured garments, but we will aim to achieve the closest possible result.
6. Canva users
If you created your design in Canva:
- Click Share
- Click Download
- Choose PNG
- Tick Transparent Background
- Download the file
- Send it to us as a document or by email
For a full walk-through with snapshots, including how to size your canvas correctly before exporting, see our guide: How to Export a Transparent PNG from Canva.
7. Files that may need extra work
These files may need artwork preparation before printing:
- Screenshots
- JPG images
- Photos
- AI-generated images
- Canva images without a transparent background
- Low-resolution logos
Artwork cleanup, background removal, or redrawing may carry an extra setup charge.
